51 WordPress Facts You Need To Know

Ever wondered about WordPress Facts? I do. All the time.

It’s pretty sad, I know, but it’s what I do! I was approached by the people over at websitebuilder.org, who shared this infographic highlighting 51 facts about WordPress. These stats re-enforce the reason its the most used CMS on the web and why I always recommend it to my clients.

Some key stats to look at are:

  • #1 – 28% of ALL websites are built using WordPress. This is huge. With all these users and the fact that WordPress is open-source means that there are a lot of people that are able to improve all aspects of the code. This is good for everyone.
  • #9 – WordPress.com is NOT WordPress.org. WordPress is open-source, meaning it is free to use. You can download all the files from wordpress.org and set up a blog in minutes. WordPress.com charges you for your website and restricts access to all 52,182 plugins.
  • #44 – There are 52,182 plugins. That covers pretty much every aspect of functionality your website might ever need. This is one of THE reasons to use WordPress for your website. Most of them have free versions that will work just fine for your needs.
  • #46, #47 and #48 – Governments, nearly half of all universities and celebrities use WordPress to power their website. WordPress is probably one of the most secure platforms you can use and with each update, it only gets safer.

Hope you enjoy 🙂
